As my friends will probably attest, this strip has taken me the longest to draw so far. There’s a great deal of fiddly detail in the fire stuff, making sure the flames grow and change from frame to frame, which took a lot longer than normal for me to do. As is usual for me, I tend to spend a lot of time on detail that barely shows up in the final web-version. Oh well, if it ever needs to be blown up to larger size for whatever reason, the detail is there. The next few strips should be a bit quicker to release. This whole once a week thing is a bit crap. I’ll endeavour to go back to my twice weekly schedule now that this one is over. One bonus of this one taking so long is that I’ve got a fairly big backlog of finished scripts that I’ve been working on between drawing sessions, so the next 10 strips are already planned and ready to be drawn.
